The Orange support forums list cases of repeated disconnections, “incorrect password” errors even though it hasn’t changed, and mailboxes that seem empty after reconfiguration.
The mailbox that appears empty after switching to IMAP almost always indicates an old POP setting that emptied the server. The problem is not strictly technical: messages have been deleted from the server by the POP protocol, in accordance with its normal operation.
A rejected password without apparent reason may indicate a temporary account lock after detecting suspicious activity. Orange applies connection restrictions that lift after a few hours or require a reset via the account security portal.
