Torque in Education Leads Gaming at TechEd 2006 Includes Games in Education Boot Camp & Exhibit Hall Showcase
Sacramento – “Games! Kids Love Games!” That seems to be the call for educating today’s kids, from Leapfrog learning systems to PC-based tutoring programs, games are an abundant part of today’s technology-driven education program and Torque In Education a Gold Sponsor of TechEd 2006, intends to showcase the advantages of educational gaming at this year’s event being held at the Pasadena Conference Center on March 26 – 29.
“We are seeing unprecidented growth in Technology in Education, and games are a very interesting part of that” says Matson Breakey, marketing director for TechEd 2006. “It is very exciting to have Torque involved at all levels of our event and providing cutting-edge content for the over 3500 education professionals who will attend TechEd this year.”
Torque In Education, a division of Garage Games, helps educators to develop their own educational resources by building games using a unique and revolutionary Torque gaming engine.
“When I was a kid, I wanted a math tutorial, so I programmed my Vic 20 to put random math questions on the screen” says Matson Breakey, “today educators can develop fully 3D color gaming environments to teach everything from history to biology to every other subject. It truly is an amazing tool.”
Torque will lead several sessions during the conference including a Pre-Conference special session called “Gaming in Education Boot Camp.” In addition, the company will have a “Games in Education Technology Showcase” in the 40,000 sq ft exhibit hall.
TechEd 2006, is the 11th Annual Technology in Education Conference & Tech Exposition featuring keynotes David Cavallo of MIT Media Labs and Tom Galvin of Intel Innovation in Education.
