Keynotes From Intel, MIT, Head up TechEd 2006 Over 250 Conference Sessions to Meet Everyones Needs.
Sacramento – The $100 laptop – is it possible? “Yes!” says David Cavallo of the famous MIT Medial Lab, co-developer of the Laptop for Every Child Initiative, and opening keynote speaker for this years TechEd 2006, the 11th Annual Technology in Education Conference & Tech Exposition being held March 26 – 29, at the historic Pasadena Conference Center in Pasadena, California.
Mr. Cavallo will be joined by other notable keynotes including Dr. Jennifer James, a cultural anthropologist whose research has led to very interesting conclusions in her presentation “The Human Face of Technological Change”and Tom Galvin, director of Intel Innovation in Education.
“I am always humbled by the quality of the speakers that we have had a TechEd, but this year, with the return of David Cavallo and Dr. James and the addition of first timer, Tom Galvin, we are poised to have a lot of fun this year,” says William Neece conference director for TechEd 2006.
In addition to the impressive keynote lineup, TechEd 2006 features over 250 concurrent sessions covering a wide range of cutting-edge topics including eLearning, plagiarism, accessibility, creative funding strategies, outcomes & assessment, and for the first time ever, games in education.
“Our conferences are not about us telling them what to do, when we say Sharing the Vision [this year’s motto for TechEd] we mean Educators Educating Educators,” adds Mr. Neece. “We have gathered over 150 educational leaders from around the globe to converge on Pasadena, California for four days of intensive skill development and sharing of best practice solutions.”
William says this is the purpose of TechEd, to bring industry and education together to meet the needs of a changing community.
