 David Cavallo Director, Future of Learning Group MIT Media Lab
Biography David Cavallo is director of MIT Media Lab's Future of Learning Group, focusing on the design and implementation of reforms in learning environments and educational systems, on the role that technology can play in this process, and on the design of new technologies for learning. Prior to joining the research staff at the Media Lab, Cavallo led the design and implementation of medical informatics at Harvard University Health Services, and was a principal and consulting software engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation's Artificial Intelligence Technology Center. Cavallo has designed and built numerous knowledge-based systems for industry, most notably a set of intelligent microworlds for training air traffic controllers. He founded and led the Advanced Technology group for Digital's Latin American and Caribbean region. He has advised numerous heads of state and ministries of education on the adoption of advanced technologies for learning and the reform of educational institutions. Cavallo received his MS and PhD from the Program in Media Arts and Sciences at MIT, and a BS in computer science from Rutgers University.

Dr. Jennifer James Urban Cultural Anthropologist
"The Human Face of Technological Change" We are all becoming "cyborgs," part technician and part human consciousness. The knowledge worker, the portfolio professional, has different skills and a different character than any previous worker class. Our current leadership assignment is nothing less than the re-making of our traditional workers and our organizations into more civilized and productive cyber forms.
Jennifer James' Biography Jennifer James is a cultural anthropologist, lecturer, writer and commentator, who is known to audiences around the world for her innovative ideas. She works on an international level with corporations and associations helping people to meet the challenges of today's transitions. Her speeches and seminars deal with the human face of technological change and the development of thinking skills. Dr. James is a specialist in areas of cultural change, diversity and marketing intelligence.
She is a published author of seven books, which include Windows, Success Is The Quality Of Your Journey, and Thinking in the Future Tense. Dr. James has written many academic articles and book chapters in the fields of culture and illness, cultural adaptation and criminology. She wrote a newspaper column for the Seattle Times for 18 years. She has filmed two PBS specials titled, “Thinking in the Future Tense” and “A Workout for the Mind.” Dr. James is currently working on a new book “Cultural Intelligence".

 Thomas Galvin Director, Intel® Innovation in Education
Thomas Galvin's Biography: Thomas A. Galvin is director of human resources at Intel Corporation. In 2001, Galvin became director of compensation and benefits, overseeing Intel's design and delivery of compensation and benefits to employees worldwide. He then became director for Intel Innovation in Education in 2003, responsible for managing Intel's corporate philanthropy directed at programs improving education. Galvin is also responsible for the Intel Foundation.
Previously, Galvin was director of consumer content market development for the Content Group, responsible for consumer software and content delivery to Intel's Pentium processor launches. He also served as a controller for Sales/CMG/Corporate planning, Multimedia Super Computing Group, government compliance and memory manufacturing. Galvin joined Intel in 1979 as a financial analyst.
Galvin received his bachelor's degree in math and economics from Miami University in 1977. He received his master's degree in finance from Northwestern University in 1979.
